We live in a complex digital world which means IT can seem pretty daunting. At Red Maple, we keep it real and talk to you in everyday language you understand. We keep the jargonistic terminology between ourselves. So you can rest easy knowing we won’t try to bamboozle you with fancy technical terms that go way over your head. No, siree. Not our style.
THE STORY BEHIND OUR NAME
We were founded by Mike Proud in 2006. We’re called Red Maple because Mike used to live in Canada. Our name is a nod to the beauty of the country and to the warmth of the people he met there. He went with it because it sounds bright and friendly – and we like to think it’s a bit like our team

We don’t pay lip service when it comes to our planet
We're not here for a long time, but we strongly believe in leaving a planet that's healthier for the next generation. Based in the countryside surrounding Hadrian’s Wall, Vallum Farm is a community of creative businesses which means there’s a real sense of community spirit and a willingness to generate enterprise. Our rural workspace means Mother Nature is our wallpaper and naturally, it’s prevalent in all of our decisions. Why wouldn’t we do all we can to protect her?
Our beautiful location means we’re also perfectly situated to support the well-being of our team. And whilst we like coming together, we want everyone to have quality of life. That’s why we can choose to work remotely or drive the short commute. Speaking of driving, we have hybrid and electric cars charged by the 160 solar panels situated on our roof, efficient underfloor heating powere biomass and we use the most energy efficient equipment we can. That al translates to our clients – we make it our mission to pass on our knowledge to help them be more efficient; not just in saving energy and the planet, but also reducing their bills. For example, rather than desktops that are left on 24/7 sipping juice, they could use energy-efficient laptop We actively ensure we minimise our waste too by recycling everything we can – whether that's a computer, paper, even down to the food we bring in for lunch.
